ABOUT
Dr. Surajit Chakrabarty maintains an exclusive and successful specialty Orthodontic practice for over 17 years in south Kolkata. He graduated from the reputed Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College and Hospital, Kolkata, in 1994 -the first Dental School in India and completed his Post-Graduation in Orthodontics in the year 2000. Dr. Chakrabarty enjoys the membership of the American Association of Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists.
Dr. Surajit Chakrabarty was born to doctor parents in 1971 and into an eminent, intellectually renowned Bengalee family comprising of Padma Bhushan awardee, University Professors, college principals, internationally accredited authors, nuclear physicists, linguists and nationally acclaimed theatre personalities.
Dr. Chakrabarty completed his schooling from the eminent South Point High School in Kolkata before joining his Dental School in 1989.
After completion of his Dental Graduation, Dr. Chakrabarty worked in the capacity of Senior House Surgeon in Prosthetic Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the prestigious Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College and Hospital for a year and a half, before setting his mind and goals for post-graduation.
He obtained his Master Degree in Orthodontics in 2000.
Dr. Chakrabarty started his private practice which was limited to Orthodontics only from the very beginning. He joined Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Science and Research in Kolkata as a Lecturer in Orthodontics in 2002 and pursued his passion for teaching for 12 long years, working his way up to being a Professor and PG Guide in the Department of Orthodontics and Examiner of Post Graduate studies with West Bengal University of Health Sciences. He also performed the responsibility of Inspector on behalf of the Dental Council of India for furtherance and facilitation of dental education in India.
Dr. Surajit Chakrabarty presently works in the capacity of Consultant Orthodontist at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) and Smile and Profile Dental Treatment Center at its premier Rashbehari Unit, both of which are organizations of good repute.
An avid traveller and amateur photographer, Dr. Chakrabarty regularly contributes blogs and reviews for TripAdvisor. He is also passionate about music and listens to a wide variety of genres and artistes from all over the world.
Dr. Surajit Chakrabarty balances his practice and passion for Orthodontics on personal honesty, professional integrity, delivering objective treatment outcomes and building relationship with his patients.
